Episode Synopsis: Peter's visions of Emma in peril lead him to try to save Sylar; Samuel tells Claire about her father's past in order to further manipulate her; and Lauren makes a risky move to help bring down Samuel. Original Air Date: Feb 1, 2010
Official NBC Description: SYLARS WORST FEARS COME TO LIFE AS H.R.G. FACES HIS PAST - Fueled by his vision of Emma (guest star Deanne Bray) in grave danger, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) attempts to rescue Sylar (Zachary Quinto) from his worst nightmare. At the carnival, Samuel (Robert Knepper) reveals H.R.G.s (Jack Coleman) secret past in order to bring Claire (Hayden Panettiere) to his side. Rundown:
Lauren tried warn Emma but Emma told Samuel.
HRG was once married and his first wife was killed by a special. He hunted a special down and got the attention of the company. After two years, Thompson says that HRG needs to start a family and get married. At the resturant, his server was named Sandra.

I recorded last nights episode. I'm going to watch it right now. I can't believe how lazy this season feels. Not much has happened with the characters and this season feels slower than usual.

Claire is never going to "join up" with Samuel but he just keeps trying. I don't see why they make Claire so important when she isn't in this situation.
HRG flashbacks!!!!
1985 LA and HRG is a Used Car Salesman. He's married to a Black Woman named Kate. She's PREGNANT....that's kind of a twist, especially if some kid is out there and HRG is the father.
This is the first time Claire has ever heard of this.
MORE FLASHBACKS!!!!
HRG and Kate are together and someone robs them with telekinesis (Sylar style). CRAP!!! Ok, the theory of HRG having a kid is out the window now. Kate dead, HRG traumatized.

Peter and Sylar have been together for days, weeks. The more they become like minded the closer they get to leaving. The Wall appears after they come to an agreement. They are closer to getting out, FINALLY!!
More HRG flashbacks!!! 
HRG is tracking down the killer on his own. Whoa, when HRG tells the guy he confronts that he's looking for a special, the guy acts like Season 1. "There are other people like me out there?" That was kinda cool.
HRG makes his first kill tracking the Special that killed his wife.

HRG has changed and now he's not a friendly Used Car Salesman, he's a pushy one. He is recruited by Thompson at the lot.
HRG is working "one of us, one of them" but he still has a grudge against people with abilities because of what happened with his wife. HRG is one of the companies most deadly agents.
CRAP....they only flash to a couple of weeks ago. HRG threatened Gretchen with the Haitian. Not cool!! I know Claire is going to be upset now. AND..SHE IS. 
Peter and Sylar with the Wall. Ok, the subject of Nathan keeps coming up, so maybe they can just fly over the wall!?

Claire is still not going along with Samuel. She knows that she's being manipulated even with the truth.
Claire and HRG get buried under the Earth in a trailer by Samuel.

Peter and Sylar are bonding. I guess they are not going to be able to fly over the wall. Sylar's going to be a good guy?!?! 
Ok, they are finally getting out!!!! They are OUT.
The Duplicator confronts Peter and Sylar...this dude doesn't stand a chance!!

That was a really slow episode, I guess they just want to save EVERYTHING for the Season Finale. I'm still not sure if I like HRG's "new" added back story or not.

It been a very slow season really. This is the first season where I have missed quite a few episode and still can keep up. I understand a show will have a filler episode or two a season but most episode this seasons has been filler episodes.
I don't mind HRG new back story. The show could always make it where his first wife and child did survive the attack. Their could have been an illusionist with the killer and created that scene in HRG's head. The wife and kid could have been paid off to get away. I wouldn't put that past The Company.

| Finally caught up with the show, haven't watched it since it went on break. It seems better then the start of the season for sure, but not really super good. I hope they can recapture the greatness of season one. It was dissapointing that "Richard" killed Kate. It would have been so much more "we're all tied together" if it was a young Samson Grey, who this character looked like and I though it was until they said his name was Richard, who took the life of Noah's first wife. It would have made his hatred for Sylar so much sweeter. Maybe Samson took out Richard later and that's where he got his TK. |
